Daman and Diu was a union territory in northwestern India. With an area of 112 km2, it was the smallest administrative subdivision of India on the mainland.

 
 

The government of Daman has taken several steps to increase tourism in the region, including:

  • Developing heritage sites

    The government has plans to develop heritage sites like the Moti Daman Fort, Nani Daman Fort, and other Portuguese buildings. The government also plans to offer heritage walks through the area and promote heritage cuisine and cultural shows.

    The government has plans to develop the Devka and Jampore beaches, the Daman Ganga river, and the area where the river meets the Arabian Sea. The government also plans to build a retaining wall to prevent beach erosion.

    The government has introduced electric segways, also known as self-balancing scooters, to promote tourism.

    The government promotes the region’s culture through festivals, events, and traditional arts and crafts.

    The government has plans to improve existing tourist facilities and develop new attractions.

    The government has plans to streamline travel processes and provide visitors with comprehensive information. 

     
     
  • Ensuring safety and security

    The government has plans to implement effective measures and guidelines to prioritize visitor safety and security.
